Founded in Frankfurt am Main in the summer of 2023 by documentary filmmaker Julian Vogel, patatino - Julian Vogel Filmproduktion produces documentaries that render visible the deep emotional impacts of social conflict on individual lives. This approach is backed by Julian's extensive background as a director (including EINZELTÄTER, SOLDIERS OF LIGHT, whose works on societal friction have earned prestigious honors such as the Grimme Prize, the German Television Award, and a nomination for the German Film Award 2026. Transitioning his storytelling expertise into production, patatino is dedicated to meeting protagonists at eye level—currently developing Amélie Janda’s MERS AMÈRES, an exploration of care and loss at Europe’s external borders.
